Women's Hoops
Category: Illustration, Merch Design
After being selected to participate in the Bangkok Illustration Fair 2024, I wanted to make sure that the work I put forward fully represented who I am and what I was passionate about. One of the key pieces I showcased at the fair was my love letter to women's hoops: a tryptich about girlhood and basketball, with the central piece being a scarf featuring players that represented some of my idols in the community.
What work was done

What I wanted to try doing with this work series was to combine basketball with feminine styles and palettes. More often than not, basketball-related art has a specific look that is traditionally more masculine and edgy, with bold colors and grunge effects. I wanted to try my hand at combining basketball imagery with a soft, warm palette, and pair it with retro-inspired fluid illustrations of florals and butterflies.

Custom Backboard Design

I also designed 2 backboard options which served as my central booth display for the event. One featured a layup sequence featuring different female hoopers, each wearing iconic signature shoes made especially for women.
