Tedi Kids

Tedi Kids is an edtech startup that helps Chinese children learn English through a mix of live online tutoring and a companion learning app. I designed the companion characters that guided students through lessons, illustrated the backgrounds that built their world, laid out the teaching slides for instructors, and created screen designs for the mini games.
What work was done
Character Design
The heart of the Tedi Kids world started with its characters. I designed the three charismatic leads — Sunny, Noah, and Mac — as the foundation for future representation and storytelling across the brand.
Each slide was thoughtfully designed to support the lesson’s objectives — from presenting information clearly to framing the right questions. I also developed custom slides for more specialized topics when needed.
Lesson Slide Design
I conceptualized and illustrated educational mini games based on specific lesson goals, including designing special game screens and crafting activities that made learning more engaging and interactive.
Mini Game Development
To bring the Tedi universe to life, I created background illustrations used throughout learning materials and presentations. These helped build a consistent and immersive visual world that kids could connect with.
